movie review: no reservations

last night, wallace and i watched no reservations. i was in the mood for a light and predictable romantic flick, so i assumed this movie would bring that to the table. (look! i made a pun!) but it didn't. the plot is semi-adequate and the casting is terrible. aaron eckhart is really awesome in thank you for smoking. but as a whimsical and unpredicatable chef? meh. perhaps i couldn't get over his awful hair. and don't even get me started on CZJ. blech!

I don't ask much of romantic comedies, except that they have a few genuinely good jokes and a really beautiful girl. No Reservations got it half-right. One other romantic comedy I watched on a plane that got it half right was "Music and Lyrics," though, in that movie, it was the other half.
