"Amanda Jane Darling Harris, 21, allegedly chased the children, aged 9 to 15, with an 18-inch samurai sword because they were playing in a parking lot of the Villa apartments, according to a police report...

today, while on the treadmill at the gym, i managed to catch the end of a league of their own. i do love that movie. tom hanks is brilliant in it. (has anyone ever told you that you look like a penis with a little hat on?)

i've recently started playing this game called "The Tone Deaf Challenge" at a local bar. basically it's like playing "name that tune," but with teams and lightning rounds. they play the first few bars of a song, and you have to guess what it is.

last night, they played "you + me = us" by that mtv band 2gether... and i just could NOT remember the name of the band. i'm still ticked. i should have know that shit! we were a little boy band crazy in high school.

this weekend i am heading off to nyc for a wedding. technically, i don't think it is a wedding. it is more of a commitment ceremony. instead of an exchange of rings, a priest or any of that jazz, my friends will be having a tree planting ceremony. i'm intrigued. there also will be lots of vegans and badminton. holla.

this weekend while unpacking my things in the new digs, i found my yiayia's recipe for Koulourakia, a type of greek cookie with sesame seeds. for as long as i can remember, my yiayia has had tupperware containers filled with these cookies stashed in a corner of the dining room. i haven't had one of these in years, so this week i plan to make them!
