this song reminds me of weddingfest spring 2010. (arson and i had three weddings the month of april, all in different cities for three consecutive weekends.) we drove to northern nj, virginia beach and cape cod for wedding awesomeness. i was the driver and he was the navigator. every time i got tired, it was time for miley cyrus. he may have wanted to hurt me, but i caught him singing a few times.

this track came on pandora on my walk to work yesterday. i burst out laughing and immediately thought of my girls from college. (so i guess i'm cheating a little. this reminds me of 4 people.) anyway, this was the ANTHEM for basement parties circa 2000. hearing it gives me flashes of dancing at 355 meyran with my besties. some of my favorite memories ever.

on a destiny's child related note, bootylicious was amazing. what a great sampling job. i secretly want my wedding party to come out to this song. (or bubba sparxxx- ms. new booty) it would be epic to see my friends do a booty drop in formalwear.

- i had to reach deep down to find motivation to come to work today. my main motivation is that i have only 3 vacation days left. need to earn more of those.

- last night stuart and i went to dinner at my favorite restaurant farmacia. deliciousness ensued.

- at dinner, i learned of the awesomeness behind the "john daly." thank you stuart. john dalys are my new summer jam.

- as of late, i've switched my club/bar drink of choice from gin & tonic to raspberry stoli & sprite. this is one of the girliest things i could drink, right up there with cosmos or sex on the beach. i think i'm ok with this. just as long as arson is ok with ordering them for me.

- had a great run yesterday where i managed to avoid the inclement weather. thanks for that, rain.

- on friday, i put in a request with the dj at top hat to play egyptian lover, and he hooked it up. 1980s beats = <3

- still thinking about phd programs. perhaps a mix between public policy and sociology. it could be very cool.

lately, i've been taking advantage of comcast on demand. particularly, exercise tv. so far my favorites are pilates and cardio kickboxing. but there are so many exercise options out there. i have a blog and i like to exercise. so let's try these out and then review them. yes? yes.

tonight, i tried "cardioke" with billy blanks jr. the concept is to sing while you do relatively easy cardio dance-y moves. i thought i would hate this but it was really fun. it was goofy and they don't stress the moves at all. basically i got to bop around singing for 20 minutes. i can dig that. also, the cool down song is AMAZING. some lady sings it to you while you stretch. you have to hear it to believe it.

it's possible that i like this in more of an ironic sense than a legit sense. regardless, i had fun and i give this 4 out of 5 stars for creativity. however, i will give it 1.5 stars for calorie burning.

after a long day at work, what do you do to make sure that you're still alive and kicking? how do you live outside the box?

i'm starting to think that the only way for me to do this is through creative outlets like writing, drawing, sculpture, photography, etc. (exercise tends to help with this too.)

currently, emails + paperwork + television = i feel like i'm in a coma. i'm not sure if it's possible to live outside the box every single day, but i'd like to try.

on sunday, i ran the rothman institute 8k. it was really exciting and i had a blast. xoxo running. it was my first official race since cross-country in high school, which is almost 10 years ago. back then i averaged an 8 or 9 minute mile, so my 10 minute mile for this race is pretty awesome!

i'm definitely ready to try a half-marathon now. probably in the spring. the 8k was too much fun to not do again. (although i will need a better ipod mix next time around.)

Agreed. I'm not pleased about Maine. I really wish gay marriage could happen by changing a few pieces of paperwork and not by propositions or referendums. Joe asked "How can I figure out whether my marijuana use is causing my depression or my depression is causing my marijuana use?"

this is a tough one. at first glance i thought this was rhetorical. similar to "if a tree falls in a forest ..." type question. marijuana and depression seem inextricably connected. but i think you can solve this one mathematically. you just need another variable.

x + marijuana = depression
or
x + depression = marijuana

x = ?
marijuana = 1 lb
depression = 0

Based on my calculations, x = a Giants loss. it's possible that x can equal other stuff too, but right now it's definitely the Giants.

released in 2004, this track is different than will smith's other work. why? i spied a timbaland in there. will has better flow in this track. and a better bassline. it's not jiggy or miami. a little edgier but with that same commercial appeal. i like.

oh hey, i've been busy lately and forgot to blog. what am i doing?

- job interview in nyc
- missing my lovelies in nyc
- road trip to buffalo
- twitter!
- heavier workload at the job in philly (still waiting for the increased pay)
- accepted bridesmaid role in my buffalo bestie's wedding
- extended hours at the gym to become hottie bridesmaid
- applying to phd programs for policy analysis
- wallace turned 1!!
- visit to pittsburgh for girls weekend
- running again, just hit 8.5 miles. got awesome advice to eat a gu to achieve more mileage (thanks pinky!)
- running an 8K in november
- really digging the new zero 7 album
