the looping chord progression reminds me a little bit of the legend of zelda soundtrack from super nintendo. it's peculiar, no?

i love madonna and sometimes i'm biased to the point where i think everything she does is awesome and amazing. i even enjoyed 'american life.' (don't laugh!) this new song is exactly what you would expect from a madonna-jt-timbaland collaboration. it's not bad, but it's not mind blowing. timbaland has a definitive sound that i'm kinda bored with.

i want more from your new album madge. but i will still give this song a chance. i'm sure it will be fun to dance to. i just hope the rest of the album isn't timbaland dominated.

this summer, i graduate with my masters degree. i am in desperate need of a supercool job that will utilize my skills and pay me enough to live.

my current position told me that i can stay as long as i like. unfortunately, they pay me $10 a day. (a day!) there is simply not enough days in one month to pay my rent on that. i fear that in order to both utilize my degree and be paid enough to live, i may have to move. which SUCKS. but let's not go there. srsly. ugh.

i woke up this morning with a sore throat. it kinda sucks because it hurts and makes solid food unappetizing. but it kinda rocks because now i have an excellent reason to eat these awesome dxm cough candies, and eat popsicles and ice cream for dinner.

i just spent my day reading, studying and outlining for my stupid midterm on saturday. at first i had a decent amount of energy and a drive to succeed. yet i've dwindled from a motivated student to a useless waste listening to the smiths, bidding on ebay items and attempting to outline from my bed.

this morning as i got off the subway, i saw a dude wearing a bills jacket. i got really excited and distracted by his fabulous jacket, and consequently got clotheslined/shoved/trampled by a stupid lady. my excitement regarding a fellow bills fan quickly faded as i dusted subway scritchens off of my coat. but i did not give up. i got right back on the horse and continued on with my morning commute.

i feel as though this was a metaphor of every bills season, ever.

existential spiral

i have a bachelors degree in philosophy from a top rated philosophy program. i'm proud of this and yet at the same time, it kind of sucks. because from time to time, i have existential crises. sometimes a higher education in the intangible abstract leads to needless worry and circular thought patterns.

wikipedia is nice enough to define my chronic existential problem as "the sudden awareness of not knowing what one's life is all about and/or the sudden awareness of one's inevitable impending personal doom." this is a fairly accurate definition. wikihow also gives some tips on how to deal with an existential crisis.

in all likelihood, i will read some kierkegaard later, eat a bawc and stop being a creepy philosophy student.

corner store dance parties

i have a favorite corner store in the neighborhood. the guys who work there are always nice, they have delicious goodies, and a good selection of beer. they also play an excessive amount of early 90s dance pop. and i friggen love early 90s dance pop.

today, i heard deelite's groove is in the heart, which may be in my top 10 favorite songs of all time. it took a lot of effort not to break it down right then and there in the store. i had that look in my eye... the look that comes right before the running man. but i resisted.
