yesterday i packed up my apt in pittsburgh, and now i'm at the boy's house in langhorne. later tonight i will be moving into my new place in the bk. i believe this means i am no longer a pittsburgh resident?

au revoir steel town

in the past 7 and a half years in pittsburgh, i've had:

- 3 schools
- 2 dorms
- 7 apartments
- 12 roommates
- 3 boyfriends
- 2 broken mufflers
- 3 stolen/broken side view mirrors
- 2 marriage proposals (1 received. 1 given)
- 3 jobs
- endless bottles of beer, rum & diets, and g&ts
- 1 great love, brandon

this website says that madonna used to live on e 4th street in the east village in her super awesome 80s heyday. i'm not sure if i believe the exact address, but that's freaking awesome. i was veryclose to moving to e 3rd st, a block away from her alleged first nyc apartment. in light of this new information, i wish i would have moved into that apartment. that might be crossing the line being a fan to being insane. but still. it's madonna.

apt hunting in nyc is like losing a contact lens in a public place. you know it's there. you know you'll find it eventually. but you may have to crouch down on a dirty ground in order to find it. and by the time you do find your contact lens, it may be all dried and shriveled.

i know there is an apt out there for me. but i'm gonna have to crouch on the ground and see some shitbags before i find a good one. and i may just have to settle for a dried and shriveled one.

this was probably a really unnecessary extended analogy. sorry? i'm tired. and looking for an apt here steals a little bit of your soul.

going out with a bang

this morning i hurt from head to toe. inside and out. last night was a blast though.

the evening started with lebanese food in the south side. freaking amazing delicious. i had vegetarian moussaka. the girls had falafel. we got some hummus, baba and baklava. we also had some riesling. great evening. the girls got me the best going away nyc survival kit ever. apples included!





then, we went for drinks at the bar. drinks. at. the. bar. lots of fun but the aftermath hurts.

the end of the night found me making bets with a cmu undergrad over who had more student loans. crazily enough, he has more student loans from 4 years at cmu than i do from 4 years at pitt, 1 year of law school (semester in italy included) and 2 years of grad school. i felt strangely validated by that conversation.

brandon and i did some dancing, i did some celebratory "im moving away from pgh" leaps. and now i'm very sore.

i also woke up with a reminder written on my arm (in felt tip pen no less) to watch this...

You know I was thinking we could go back home... have some dinner and pop in the Sisqo CD... no? Weren't thinking that? Ok

this is really amazing and wonderful. i love it.
